Work study & employer programs

Earn while you learn, or let your employer help cover the cost. For full VA education benefits, see Military/Veterans Benefits.

Federal Work Study

Part-time employment for students with financial need, on and off site, that never conflicts with class schedules. Applications at the Financial Services Office; depends on federal funds.

Institutional Work Study

ANU-funded work study designed, whenever possible, to improve business skills and give experience in your business specialization.

VA Work Study

For students at three-quarter time or more eligible for VA education programs — earn the higher of federal or state minimum wage performing VA-related services. VA Regional Office: (800) 827-1000.

Employer Tuition Assistance

Many employers reimburse tuition. ANU will partner with your employer to increase their contribution through the Business Partnership Grant.

Professional judgement

Circumstances change. Your aid can too.

Case by case, ANU has the discretion to assess extenuating circumstances that impact your cost of attendance, Student Aid Index (SAI), or dependency status — so you receive an appropriate amount of aid. Forms are available at the Financial Services Office; supporting documentation must be received no later than 60 days of enrollment.

Cost of attendance change

Increased childcare, commuting expenses required for your program, rent and utilities, or special books and supplies.

Student Aid Index change

Loss or significant change in income for you, your spouse, or your parents; excessive uninsured medical and dental expenses for the most current tax year.

Unusual circumstances

Dependency override or parent refusal status, based on documentation — possibly from a third party such as a teacher, counselor, clergy, agency, or court.
